Hello, Welcome to Claire Snell Counselling.
I am Claire, and as a qualified Humanistic Integrative counsellor, I’m here to offer a safe, confidential and supportive space, for you to explore your thoughts feelings and experiences.
I understand that seeking help can be a difficult and sometimes overwhelming decision however, I believe that each person, given the right conditions has the capacity to grow, change and determine the path that their life takes. Counselling can help with this.
As a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, (BACP), I am committed to working within their ethical framework and adherence to the professional standards. I work with adults aged 18 and over, offering face-to-face counselling in a comfortable and private setting, as well as online video and telephone counselling if you prefer the convenience and flexibility of remote sessions.
I invite you to explore my website and learn more about my counselling approach and Services. When you feel ready to take the next step, please get in touch to arrange an initial consultation.
As a Humanistic Integrative Counsellor I adopt a holistic approach that focuses on you and your unique life experiences both past and present, where our therapeutic relationship will be at the core of the work we do together.
I strive to create an open, empathic, genuine environment where you can feel heard, understood and accepted without judgement.
Together, we will work collaboratively to explore your inner world, identify patterns of behaviour, and uncover and explore the underlying issues that may be contributing to your struggles.
The belief that all of us will grow and fulfil our potential, the emphasis being on the therapeutic relationship, creating the right conditions to support that growth.
Gestalt focuses on the immediate here, and now, it looks at how your past effects and influences how you feel in this moment, rather than how you felt back then.
Transactional analysis is considered a fundamental approach for well-being. Based on the theory that each person has three ego states, parent, adults, and child, it uses these, along with other concepts to analyse how individuals communicate and to identify what interaction is needed for a better outcome.
I offer face-to-face counselling in a comfortable and private setting in Westbourne, Dorset, and I see clients from, but not limited to the surrounding areas, such as Bournemouth Broadstone, Lytchett, Matravers, Corfe, Mullen, Holton Heath and Wareham. I will provide full location details when we arrange our therapy sessions.
For those who prefer the convenience and flexibility of remote sessions, I offer online video call and telephone counselling. Please feel free to contact me for more information.
I am qualified to work with adults aged 18 and over.
My qualifications to date:
I am committed to Continuing Professional Development and attend regular sessions to expand my knowledge and experience. Part of my registration of the BACP includes full access to their CPD hub.

I will hear about your experiences and history and I can explain more about the type of counselling I can offer to establish if it is right for you. There is no obligation to agree to further sessions following an initial consultation.

Fees are payable for all booked appointments - sessions that are cancelled less than 24 hours or are not attended without cancellation are charged at full session fee.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about how counselling works, or to arrange an initial assessment appointment. This enables us to discuss the reasons you are thinking of coming to counselling, whether it could be helpful for you and whether I am the right counsellor to help.
You can also call me on 07821669859 if you would prefer to leave a message or speak to me first. I am happy to discuss any queries or questions you may have prior to arranging an initial appointment.
